Giving Week 2024 is back, and this year, it’s bigger than ever! From December 2nd to December 9th, the Mount Dora Community Trust is celebrating the 5th anniversary of Giving Week, and we invite you to join us in supporting Companions for Courage.
This is a unique opportunity to make your donation go further. During Giving Week, donations made to participating organizations like Companions for Courage could be matched by Mount Dora Community Trust — up to triple the impact of your donation! That means your $25, $100, or even more could help us provide three times the support to local children in need.
Why Donate to Companions for Courage?
Companions for Courage is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Central Florida that makes a profound difference in the lives of children who are victims of abuse. Our volunteer teams, which consist of a trained handler and a compassionate therapy animal, help children feel safe and supported during difficult times, like giving testimony in court.
Here’s How We Help:
- Therapy animals provide comfort and courage to children, sitting beside them in the witness box or during depositions.
- Our teams visit children in hospitals, shelters, counseling centers, and even at schools or special events.
